Lloydminster Border Bike Rally

The BBR

Nick Laley had a vision, he is a biker and also a very active member of the Lloydminster Lions Club. After several tries at getting the club to give him the go ahead at having a rally Nick and Ray Tatro together built the first proposal and set up the first ever Poker Run from Weaver Park in Lloydminster.

Well despite the rain and the cool day there was a great turn out and the club generated a good fund for use in all their charitable endeavorers. This set the stage and Nick, Ray and the Club members and several supporters and volunteers moved on to improve the venue and enlarge the activities for the next year which was a great success doubling any projections and incurring a great deal of funding for the charitable endeavors the club supports.

Year three was again a major events the club was growing in membership and they attempted to go on line with the first attempt in Internet marketing and promotions. Very limited success with a website, but the event was a major success... The Lions Club is becoming an intricate part of the community and the charities they support are seeing a great deal more funding from the Lions Club due to the BBR!

Year four was again very successful and we were able to generate a generous amount of funds to support the charities...

2011 - Well we all need a wake up call now and then, this was the biggest event we ever planned, restructured the web site got it more effective with in the club and the participating rides as well as a mass interest in our event even as far as saying global interest. With 1.5 million hits on the new site over a year of existence, several thousands of dollars in sales. We were anticipating the largest ever Rally...

Well, mother nature tried to set us in our place by bring torrential rains, flooding, wind from hell and well anything else she could think of. Well, what she never planned on was the Biker Attitude, the Persona of a group of die hard tough individuals who have no interest in how tough it is just that it was there and so were they! The real bikers showed in full force, braving all the elements and we had a total blast... Yes numbers were down but the rally was a success...

BBR is becoming a place to be, a must experience event for many riders from all walks of life... We do stress the family environment, we look for a good time lots of fun things to keep you in the mood. But without the riders and supports of the BBR we would be nowhere! So thank you all for making the BBR what it is a place to be on Fathers Day every year!
